From the workshop to digital, and back
Matter and Code is a CRIA residency in collaboration with Logic Kernel for artists who work with their hands: drawing, painting and sculpture.
It is not about leaving craft behind, but starting from it. During the stay, each artist explores digital tools — from 3D scanning and modeling to digital painting and generative art — to take their practice into new territory.
Five paths between matter and code
- 01
Modeling
Building volumes in digital space with a sculptor's sensibility.

3D printing
Returning to matter what was born on the screen.
- 04
Digital painting
Carrying the gesture of the brush onto new surfaces and tools.
- 05
Generative art
Writing rules and systems that produce images and forms.
